What is all the fuzz about Alien Bee lightnings? should i buy those as abeginning photographer?

if you go to alien bee's website you can get light kits from $300 to $1500 and then that way you can get the lights and stands you need plus umbrellas and other cool gagets. they are really easy to use. plus if you get more then one alien bee lights you can slave the other. alot of studios use this brand too so it helps if your looking to find work in one.What is all the fuzz about Alien Bee lightnings? should i buy those as abeginning photographer?
I'm not speaking from experience, but only from Internet gossip:





-- the prices are reasonable


-- the stuff works as advertised


-- the wattage ratings are honest


-- support is excellent (real people authorized to make things right)


-- the owner, Paul C. Buff, has a great reputation (he's behind White Lightning equipment)





As I say, that's just what I've heard.
