Dry cracked skin around the bee sting on my face?
I had a bandaid on it and when I took it off it was like that
Lotion ( extra strenght shea butter had no effect)Dry cracked skin around the bee sting on my face?
Well, since you have dry skin around a sting by a bee,all you need is something that could sooth your skin from the sting and yet, improve moisture balance on that dry skin area.Try to get an astringent such as Witch Hazel and apply a little of it near your skin area to sooth it first.Avoid using antiseptic though,it will make it more worse. After applying astringent, that apply lotion that could moisturize that dry skin area.Try Vitamin E Moisturizer since it will sooth dry skin.Plus,do not conceal your skin with a plaster or something.Just left it exposed in order to promote healing to your skin.Hope I helped(:

Should I but the bugaboo bee?
I want the bugaboo bee for my baby, but I hear that children outgrow the seat within a year! If anyone has this stroller can you tell me your experience with it? Should I buy this stroller?Should I but the bugaboo bee?
i have a bugaboo bee and i love it! My lo is 7 months now and its the easiest pram to whizz round, put away, takes very little space in the boot, you can make it parent facing or not. And its looks great. HE is secure and he seem to love it too. They say it will last until your child is 4 years old but i doubt it will fit after 3. But after 3 will you really need a buggy? I am pleased with mine and i am sure it will last him at least 3 years. My Friend bought hers when her Little one was a little older, she is two and fits in it fine, and room to grow.
I think you should go for it i know at least 3 people with the pram for the last year who seem to love it too.Should I but the bugaboo bee?
If you're going to get a Bugaboo then I recommend getting the Cameleon. We have the Cameleon and we have a huge (in height) Daughter and she will be in it until she is at least 2/3 years of age. I love the Bee and it does seem more user friendly (you can collapse it with one hand) but it definitely looks small.
I wouldn't buy a Bugaboo Bee just because there has been a large recall on them lately so their safety is questionable.

Why is the spelling bee so important in the US?
Because it motivates people to learn how to spell. People love the competition. Why is the spelling bee so important in the US?
Have you ckd the spelling and english from the morons on this site? Why is the spelling bee so important in the US?
Because we have the least phonetically friendly words on the planet.
Ghoti can spell fish
enouGH wOmen naTIon
George Bernard Shaw.
The French do dictees cause that works better for French with all the little modifiers and punctuation and agreement.
Because English is so hard to learn and with texting and IMing taking the place of correct spellings. people are forgetting how to spell correctly. Our kids are learning to spell at school and learning to cheat by texting.
not important to me
it gets on TV and is covered by the media - which makes it look important.
It's actual importance is that people ( including kids) will do things to win a competition that they probably wouldn't do normally. So they learn how to spell.
for the same reasons football, baseball, the army, science, technology, and education are:
WE ARE AMERICANS:) We take pride in our education opportunities, so we hold special events to commend those who are good at learning (spelling).
idk... I think it's dumb. So what if people can spell big words just means they know how to spell.
Because of the competition... The US is notorious in competition.. SHowing off their finest who can spell..I use to be a good speller but thankfully I got spell check here to help me out. Never was in a national bee but at school I held my own. I dont like it. Puts too much pressure on the child. That is wrong with our country too much pressure and undue stress not only bee's but sports and everything. Sorry being to long winded and NO i wasnt on the debate team either.LOL
it's not...? what are you talking about?
there r a lot of smart kids out there. dont they deserve a little glory rather than just stupid sports people like nfl players, and mlb players. or even high school sports stars. dont smart kids get a chance to excel at something and get noticed for it
It really isn't, there's only a tiny percentage of people that participate in spelling bees.
it allows kids to use his/her brain and to showcase their knowledge..its not as important as it is popular...at least to the parents..
If spelling bees were the bee's knees, how come so many people in the US can't spell and wouldn't know a homonym if it bit them in the butt?
its important to show on national tv to get the point accross that you should not home school
I think it might be because the English language is not phonetic and an amalgamation from many others, thus spelling it is not easy.
to show off
Nah, ask G.W. Bush.

Helpero is a web site that helps every Internet user, from all over the world, solve any computer related problem. You can ask Helpero for free.
it's a little late for this but i do suggest ghosting your system before you connet to any WAN. That way when something like this happens you can delete a partition, and put an identical image of your system with no troubles or worries just a little time.
Free AVG is a free anti-virus software. You will have to uninstall the antivirus that you have before you install Free AVG. It updates automatically and works very well.
Hackers and worms are two different things. Worms and viruses are related. They infect your PC and cause applications to not work properly.
Hackers use an open port on your ISP and Network to get into your pc. The normally attempt to steal information or break your PC.
Good Luck!

A man who was bitten by a bee develops difficulty breathing & faints. Which of the following measures should?
be taken?
A. Start performing CPR
B. Tie a tourniquet at the site of the sting
C. Administer an injection of adrenaline
D. Apply pressure to the site of the stingA man who was bitten by a bee develops difficulty breathing %26amp; faints. Which of the following measures should?
C) administer adrenaline (in medical terms, is epinephrine)
In actuality, if they have lost consciousness, that might not be enough, cricothyrotomy or tracheostomy may be needed, depending on how much airway obstruction is present, but a good first step is the epi.
I carry an epipen and have had more epinepherine shots than I care to think about. Hypersensitive to hymenoptera, maybe a dozen visits to the ER/ and or clinics, now carry my own.A man who was bitten by a bee develops difficulty breathing %26amp; faints. Which of the following measures should?
first off bees don't bite, they sting. the best thing you have listed here is administering adrenaline, but not everyone who is allergic to bees carries one (they may not be aware of their allergy). the first thing you should do when someone is stung by a bee is get the stinger out if it is still stuck in. DON'T PINCH IT OUT, that causes more poison to go into the person stung. the best thing is to use something flat, like a credit card or a knife blade, and sorta scrape it out gently. if the person starts having problems and you can't get them adrenaline and you're not near a hospital, the best option you have isn't listed here. CPR probably wouldn't work because the windpipe could be swollen shut, preventing anything from going in. the absolute best thing to do, and i know this is odd/gross, is to pee on the sting site. for some reason urine cancels out the effects of bee poison. my grandfather did this to a man he knew who was allergic to bees and got stung and saved his life.
yea give him the adrenaline (epi-pen)....the difficulty breathing could be given a small relief wtih it.....but still take em to the hospital....
I'd say C but I'm not a doctor :)
Edit: Unless the breathing difficulty is not caused by an allergic reaction but by a sting in the throat. Then neither A, B, C, or D will help.
c. after the injection go straight to the emergency room.

Is there any way to revive a brand new sharpie if the cap has bee left off for a long time?
Let the point soak in a bit of rubbing alcohol for a few minutes. Recap and let it stand with the point down for awhile. This usually revives mine even when they are trying to run dry.

What does the phrase ';Killer bee killed'; mean?
I know that killer bees have invaded america but isn't it dangerous to kill them yourself? What does the phrase ';Killer bee killed'; mean?
Your phrase just means that species of bee did its job. Why would it be dangerous to kill those bees myself? If they are trying to kill me, then I have to kill them, or I'll or be killed. What does the phrase ';Killer bee killed'; mean?

Kill OR Be KILLED.

tee hee - it's ';kill or be killed';.
Gee, I don't know but, we have killer bees here. They look just like regular honey bees. The fire dept. comes out in bee suits and sprays them with foam. No, don't do it yourself. Big mistake.
Are you sure you didn't mean ';Kill or be killed?';
Did you see that as a newspaper headline?

Officials placed the time of death of Kevin the Killer Bee at around 8pm last night. Neighbors reported hearing screaming, intense buzzing, a crash, a splat and then another crash. Monica Johnson Lee was found inside the house delirious and clutching a house slipper....

Does anyone know what the side effects of a appendicitis is? and why does it feel like a bee sting?
Well, for one, it would not feel like a Bee sting, that could be anything, athletes cramp, or something. But for the symptoms of appendicitis,
That would be:
Severe abdominal pain
Nausea
Headaches
When it finally comes to the point where it explodes, that would be really severe abdominal pain, and you wiull turn really white, and most likely won't be able to get up until you reveive medical careDoes anyone know what the side effects of a appendicitis is? and why does it feel like a bee sting?
Have you had an appendectomy, or do you think you are experiencing appendicitis?
I you have stomach pain in the lower right, or in general for more than four hours you need to go to the doctor. Waiting just make things more complicated, increases infection risk and lengthens recovery time.
If you recently had an appendectomy (assuming it was liposcopic) 鈥?much of the pain is caused by the inflating of your gut so they have the doctors have room. I have never heard of a bee sting sensation, but everyone is different. Most feel as though they did 10,000 crunches.Does anyone know what the side effects of a appendicitis is? and why does it feel like a bee sting?
I think everyone experiences it differently. A few years back my brother became really ill and went to hospital, they turned him away saying is was just gastro, the next day he went back again, they booked him into a room to watch him over night and then at 3 in the morning we got an urgent call.
Steven had started dying and finally the doctors actually did something about it and discovered that his appendix had not only already exploded but had also gone gangrenous. He had multiple surgeries to clean and remove bowel and was sent home prematurely.
At home his stitches began to leak the contents of his intestines and into his body and was rushed back to hospital to have more surgeries and was not allowed to eat anything. After two months of not eating and being on an IV of nutrients and steroids he shed all of his fat and grew several inches.
He had shocked everyone because the pain he had felt due to the blown appendix was only about a 6 on his pain metre... which was nothing compared to the pain of his surgeries and of the aftermath.
And that's all I know about appendicitis :P
If you are wanting the symptoms of appendicitis go to www.webmd.com for more info.
When I had it I just did not feel good for several days and ran a low grade fever. I was nauseous alot of the time. But not alot of pain like they say. When I went to the doctor they rushed me to the hospital for surgery and she said I had got there just in time. Any longer and it would have ruptured and I would have had to stay in the hospital for 6 weeks or more since the bacteria would have gotten into my blood system.
If you suspect appendicitis see your doctor today or go to the ER ASAP.
I never felt a bee sting pain just severe intense cramping on my right side that I also felt in my back. I went in early enough before it ruptured so I was only in the hospital one night.
That doesn't sound like appendicitis to me. You would know if you have appendicitis. . . the pain intensifies.

What is your favorite kind of potato chips? I think Mr. Bee from WVa is the best.?
I gotta agree with Craig. Im born and raised in parkersburg Wv, just a few miles from the Mister Bee factory. My second favorite though, is Grandma Utz's kettle chips, only been able to find those in pennsylvania area. .......... P.S. ...... Craig im curious how far from W.V. that Mr Bee's are sold( or are you in Wv.?)What is your favorite kind of potato chips? I think Mr. Bee from WVa is the best.?
Tim's Cascades Style Potato Chips. They're originally from the Seattle, Washington area I believe. Try the Jalapeno or the Salt %26amp; Vinegar. They're extremely crunchy and packed full of flavor. I used to live on the east coast and had access to some fantastic chips especially from the Pennsylvania Dutch country which fried their potatoes in lard, which were terrific. But even with those fantastic chips in my backyard, I'd have Tim's send me a case of their Jalapeno chips. They're available in many western states. What is your favorite kind of potato chips? LAYS
Pringles and doritos
Cape Cod Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper
the irish brand ...............';TAYTO'; mmmmmmmmmmmm
I think...that Doritos would be my personal fave...preferable either Guack :), original cheesey or jack and pepper. Full of flavor...just the way I like it...no salt for me!
Wavy Lay's... no weird flavors, just good ol' salted chips
MR. BEE IS GOOD
No No No i think pringles original are the best!
apart from home made ,tesco do their own new on the stre since december, they are tesco finest oven chips i would give vote these a gold, give them a try,
Lays dill pickle chips of Kettle cooked salt and vineger
Ruffles Organic Reduced Fat. Just because of the flavor, not really because they are organic or reduced fat.
Really potato-ey But not too greasy
Darn, I'm on a diet that does not allow me simple carbs and chips ARE my weakness. Now I'm craving!

If a bee was to hover inside a moving plane would the back of the plane hit the bee?
The velocity of any object is strictly relative to the reference from of interest. This means that no observation (including that of flies) *confined to the aircraft* can be performed that will tell you if the plane is even moving. You'd have to look out the window to even know.
If a bee was to hover inside a moving plane would the back of the plane hit the bee?
edit:
[I just figured that the below is not entirely true: its only true if the plane is moving at a constant velocity and the bee was always moving at 900km/h, that is that the bee and plane have always shared the same position (relatively speaking: relative to nothing).
However, If the plane is accelerating and the bee is flying forward then then the bee would have to have a minimum acceleration of: (the acceleration of the plane) minus (the force applied by the friction force of air), to not ';hit'; the back end of the plane.]
if you consider that the plane is moving at 900 km/h, then the bee would be moving at 900 km/h plus its own speed relative to the earth. this is because th plane is enclosed, thus the air inside the plane plus everything else inside (except electromagnetic waves) are traveling at 900 km/h. thus is basic relativity. Of course if the plane was open there would be no air inside and therefore a bee would not beable to keep up.. unless it was sitting on the plane, in which case at 900 km/h the force of the air would push it off.If a bee was to hover inside a moving plane would the back of the plane hit the bee?
No, not at all. Because the body of plain is moving in the air, but it has contact with earth's gravitational force. Weight of the plane is acting towards the center of the earth, and the weight of bee is not more than the plane's weight. So the weight of the plane is taking bee with itself. You can test it yourself by putting a bee in your car and drive at a highway with at least a speed of 80km/hr. You will see that the bee is seemed to move in the car as the car is moving. So it proves, that this case is same with the plane.
No, that's like saying if you were to jump in the moving plane. If you jump on a moving plane you don't fly to the back of the plane. lol
No - The bee would be shielded from the air resistance (caused by it's own velocity) by the exterior of the plane.
I see what you're driving at but, I don't think so because the bee and the plane are moving at the same speed.
No
Haven't you ever seen a flying bug in your car before?
Same thing.

What is the best thing to do for a bee sting?
First, you want to remove the stinger as soon as possible because there is a venom sack attached to the stinger and it will continue to pump venom into the wound. Flick the stinger out by using your finger nail, credit card, etc. Come from underneath the stinger and flick or scrape the stinger in the opposite direction that it went in. DO NOT use tweezers, pinch it between your fingers, or use anything else that squeezes the stinger as that will just push more venom into the wound. If you can't remove the stinger with a thumbnail, credit card, smooth flat object, then you will have to use tweezers, but try to take hold of the stinger as close to the skin as possible so that you avoid squeezing more venom into the wound
Then apply some ice or a cold wet washcloth to numb the area for a few minutes.
Finally, what my Mother used, and what I use for my kids, is to mix baking soda and water to make a slightly thick paste, and then apply it to the wound. There are several store bought products for stings and bites that can also be applied.
It is worth noting that some people can become critically allergic to even one sting. The person who has been stung should be monitored for 10-15 minutes. If symptoms such as swelling of the tongue or throat, hives, or vomiting occur, or if the victim becomes disoriented or loses consciousness, immediate medical attention is needed!
Hope this answer helps! What is the best thing to do for a bee sting?
Pull the stinger out before it pumps the venom in.What is the best thing to do for a bee sting?
an ice cube
Put sugar on it.
cold water and anti germ stuff, if it is bad go to a doctor.
meat tenderizer
A paste made with warm water and baking soda will remove the poison. When bathing a little warmer water helps the swelling go down.
If you are stung by a bee then follow these Bee Sting Treatment Tips
Remember that a bee can only sting once before it dies 鈥?unlike a wasp, which might deliver multiple stings
The bee leaves the stinger in your skin so make sure that you remove it quickly. A stinger left in the skin after a bee sting can continue to pump venom for up to ten minutes 鈥?making the bee sting more painful.
Remove the stinger by scraping it away sideways with your fingernail, a knife blade or the edge of a credit card. Try not to grab it with your nails or with tweezers.
Trying to pull it out a sting with tweezers or nails might only succeed in pumping more of the venom into your skin but remember 鈥?it's the speed of removal that makes the difference to how painful the sting is. In reality 鈥?any method of getting the sting out is effective as long as it's quick.
If you see a little black dot in the middle of the red area then you can be pretty sure that the stinger is still in the skin 鈥?try harder to get it out.
Apply ice to the area and leave it on for up to ten minutes
Some say that a solution or a paste of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) rubbed into the skin can help to lessen the inflammation. Others claim that applying an aluminium chlorohydrate based antiperspirant can be soothing.
If you have it to hand then apply one of the many bee sting ointments or creams. Hydrocortisone cream or any cream with steroid in it is likely to help minimise any inflammation and lessen the pain of the sting.
Take some anti-inflammatory medication or a simple painkiller
Don't leave the stinger in the skin 鈥?it will only lead to increased pain
Don't try to suck the wound or use meat tenderiser 鈥?there's a risk of infection if you do
1 Remove the stinger with all haste, in whatever manner is most convenient. If you see a little black dot in the wound, part of the stinger is still present. I like scraping across the skin with a credit card to try to remove the stinger.
2 Apply a solution of one part meat tenderizer to 4 parts water. Papain, the enzyme in meat tenderizer, breaks down the protein in bee venom responsible for the pain and itching. Don't leave this on for more than 30 minutes, or it can irritate the skin. If this isn't available, you might try an antiperspirant. Aluminum chlorohydrate reduces the effect of bee venom, but to a lesser extent.
3 Apply cold. Use ice or cool water for 10 to 30 minutes after the sting. This blunts the body's allergic response.
4 An antihistamine such as Benadryl, taken by mouth, can give some added relief, and help prevent the reaction from spreading.
5 A shake lotion such as calamine can be helpful. A paste made of baking soda and water can have a similar effect.
6 Topical hydrocortisone can also provide some symptomatic relief.
7 Give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for systemic pain relief.
a wasp sting
this is gonna sound sooooooo lame but put vinegar on it i had a bee sting me in the hand when i was 3( i fell on the bee
so it's not the bees fault) and my godmother put vinegar on it and the wound healed up in a week, no mark or infection.
i once heard that holding a regular copper penny on the sting really helps. So when i got stung i decided to give it a try and it worked great! So now i always keep a penny in my first aid kit. It's also pretty good if you tape the penny to your hand and wrap it on with some cloth, just so you dont have to hold it there the whole time. It really works!
Good Luck

pull the stinger out if its still in you. if you dont have anything that is for bee stings to put on it try putting ice on it to help stop the sting
Make a pasete of water and baking soda (should bee thick) and apply to sting to remove poison.
Honestly apply ice...I'm allergic so I would have to give myself a shot..Make sure u are not allergic!!!
Avoid it.
Seriously though: Remove the stinger with all haste, in whatever manner is most convenient. If you see a little black dot in the wound, part of the stinger is still present. I like scraping across the skin with a credit card to try to remove the stinger.
Apply a solution of one part meat tenderizer to 4 parts water.
Apply cold. Use ice or cool water for 10 to 30 minutes after the sting. This blunts the body's allergic response.
An antihistamine such as Benadryl, taken by mouth, can give some added relief, and help prevent the reaction from spreading.
A shake lotion such as calamine can be helpful. A paste made of baking soda and water can have a similar effect.
Topical hydrocortisone can also provide some symptomatic relief.
Give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for systemic pain relief.
I don't know if it's true or not but putting a baking soda paste on the sting helps.
ice it...it's stops the swelling and spread of poison. once the swelling has gone down, take a tweezers and get the stinger out.
Don't try to suck the wound or use meat tenderiser 鈥?there's a risk of infection if you do

a wasp sting
this is gonna sound sooooooo lame but put vinegar on it i had a bee sting me in the hand when i was 3( i fell on the bee
so it's not the bees fault) and my godmother put vinegar on it and the wound healed up in a week, no mark or infection.
i once heard that holding a regular copper penny on the sting really helps. So when i got stung i decided to give it a try and it worked great! So now i always keep a penny in my first aid kit. It's also pretty good if you tape the penny to your hand and wrap it on with some cloth, just so you dont have to hold it there the whole time. It really works!
Good Luck

When your stung by a bee does it really help to scratch the area with a credit card?
I don't know about the credit cards effectiveness but I saw several articles recently saying that a copper penny placed on the sting would remove the poison and give immediate relief. I hope it worksWhen your stung by a bee does it really help to scratch the area with a credit card?
What?
No. Ridiculous. When your stung by a bee does it really help to scratch the area with a credit card?
In all honesty, this is the most recommended solution to a bee sting. If you use tweezer or any other type of device to pinch the stinger out, you squeeze the poison sack that is attached to the stinger. I know this because the red cross knows this.
Yes. The point of scratching with a card is to pick the stinger out of your skin to prevent it from releasing more of the poison.
NO the card is to take out the stinger, like scrape stinger out.
The only thing you can do with a credit card, may be, is knock the stinger out. Whoever told you that has obviously never been stung.
I haven't heard anything about a credit card. When a bee stings you, the stinger detaches from the rest of the bee's body. Even after the stinger detaches, it continues to ';pump'; the venom in to the skin, which is why experts tell you to remove the stinger immediately. I don't know if the ';credit card'; trick you are talking about has anything to do with removing the stinger. Once the stinger has been removed from the skin, do not continue to scratch - it only spreads the venom.
The only thing a credit card may be handy for is scraping it across to get out the stinger.
You are using a credit card to scratch out the stinger instead of using tweezers which could pinch the stinger and release more of the toxin, so yes it does help.

Don't expect anyone to come up with some magical solution. It takes time and practice and memorization to remember a bunch of words. Good luck.I'm in the spelling bee and can't memorize the words. What go I do?
I'm a horrible speller so I probably shouldn't even be answering this question lol, BUT I know that when I am trying to memorize things for class, even now as a college student, I make up songs or acronyms to remember certain things. Or you could try clapping or tapping your foot to a beat and spell the letters with each tap or clap. Hope one of these helps!

I believe in the evolution theory, but when did the split bee tween plants and animals occur?
That happened way back when eukaryotes split from prokaryotes. Eukaryotes have a nucleus. Then eukaryotes split into animals, plants, fungus, etc... but they were still very tiny organisms at first.
Opisthokonts separated from Archaeplastida
This was around 1.6-2.1 billion years ago. ';Modern'; groups came about 80 million years ago.

The above answer is mostly correct. Multi-celled organisms formed, and were not ';animals'; as we know it at all. Plants and animals evolved around the same time, and it appears to have been a symbiotic relationship.

Bacteria were the first things to be here and they split into plants and animals when they started Photosynthesis
Evolution is a crock. Don't take my word for it but how come we have ZERO fossils that show the connection of the evolution flow. All we have is before and after. And if monkeys evolved into humans...then why are there still monkeys? They are not legally or rule-bound to pledge their votes to Obama. They can individually chose whichever candidate they'd like. Probably, edwards will be campaining for him now . AS will Richardsons, Dodds, and Kusinicks.
He seems to have endorsed both candidates, he thinks Obama will invite him to be VP, poor John can he stand another loss?
Its not automatic but it makes it more likely than not they will support Obama at Edwards' urging.
No, but he gets two free tickets to the Breck Girls beauty salon.
I liken this to an endorsement by Barry Manilow.
No . . . they are free to chose or remain committed to Edwards.

What are the differences between a bumble bee and a honey bee?
Bumble bee and the honey bee are distant cousins.
Unlike the honey bee the humble bumble is gentle and slow. As she trundles around the garden collecting pollen and nectar she is quite different to her streamlined relative who dashes about everywhere.
Even her body shape is different as you can see from the pictures. The bumble is round and furry and not at all like her more wasp shaped cousin. In fact as you can see from the photo there are three kinds of bumble bee, the large Queen, the smaller imperfectly formed female worker bee and the tiny male or drone bee. All are seen at different times of year. Only the Queen and the worker bees have a sting.
Bumble bees are much less aggressive than honey bees.
Bumble bees do not lose their sting and die if they use it, as a honey bee will
Because they live in small nests bumble bees never swarm - so you can encourage a nest or two in the garden without fear of this happening. What are the differences between a bumble bee and a honey bee?
Many different types of bee are called ';bumble bees'; but nearly all have fatter rounder bodies. Some are solitary, some live in small colonies and others in larger ones. Some burrow into clay banks to make a nest. The sting is not barbed like that on the honey bee so that it can pierce the skin and withdraw. If a honey bee stings you it will try to work its sting out by turning round in a circle so that the barb can be eased out. If you brush it off the poison sac is usually ripped out leaving it embedded in you. The bee will then die because of blood loss. The poison sac will continue to pulse as it pumps more poison into you. The best way to remove it is to scrape it off with a knife with a sideways action. If you try to pich it out with your fingers you will squeeze more poison into your body.
Honey bees are more highly evolved than their close relatives the wasp which also does not have a barb. Wasps are carnivourous and eat greenfly, caterpillars and anything they can carry away to their nest which is constructed of chewed up celulose to make paper. Honeybees eat only nectar from flowers and pollen. They also sometimes are attacted to ';honeydew'; which is produced by certain trees such as lime and poplar and plane trees. Some bumble bees are solitary, others live in small colonies. In early spring the large bumble bees that you see flying round the garden or woodland are queens. They have overwintered on their own after having been mated the previous autumn and are searching for a nest site to lay one or two eggs which they will feed themselves having found some nectar and pollen. When these workers hatch out they will take over the task of feeding and caring for the infant colony as the queen devotes more time to egg laying. Some bumble bees construct large ';pots'; of wax in which honey is stored for use by the colony in times of scarcity. The honey bee constructs many smaller cells (honeycomb) which is used both for the queen to lay eggs in and for storing honey and pollen. The honey is stored above the brood rearing combs so that the heat rising from the nest will help to evaporate the thin nectar produced by flowers into thicker honey which will keep better. Honeybees produce much greater quantities of honey because unlike bumblebees the colony continues on for more than one season and although the bees hibernate during the cold months when there are no flowers or food sources the bees go into their store of honey to keep themselves alive and warm. Honeybee colonies number in the thousands. A big colony can number 50,000 at the height of the summer. If the colony gets too big the workers sense that they are overcrowded and start making large cells in the comb. These are queen cells and although the queen will lay a normal egg into them the workers feed the growing grub with a special food called Royal Jelly which because it is so rich and nutritious has the effect of turning the egg into a queen. They also make slightly smaller special cells for making drones. These are male bees which will be needed to mate with the emerging queens when they fly. If a freshly hatched queen bee can do so she will attempt to sting to death all the other queen bees whilst they are still in their cells. Drones do not have stings-their sole purpose in life is to mate with a queen who will mate with several drones and store the sperm inside her body to fertilise her future eggs.Killing the other emerging queens will ensure that when the colony swarms as they will do shortly there will be more bees for her to share. The younger bees which have just hatched usually fly off with the new queen and the older bees stay in the hive. When you see a swarm of bees its just a colony having divided and off to seek a new home.
A swarm of bees contrary to popular myth is not aggressive and will not sting you unless provoked. Their stomachs are full to capacity with honey which they have taken with them from the parent nest as start up supplies for the new nest. What are the differences between a bumble bee and a honey bee?
1 iz bumble bees, e other iz honey bees.. but both r '; BEES ';.......

Has anyone seen :The 25th annual Puttnam County Spelling Bee';?
I have tickets for my birthday and I will be seeing it Sunday here in Chicago. Is it any good?Has anyone seen :The 25th annual Puttnam County Spelling Bee';?
Hi!
I haven't actually seen it, but I know all the songs by heart. Believe it or not.
It is a great show... It has very politically incorrect jokes (kind of hidden) and it deals with frienship and competition in a child's world.
I think it's brilliant really! And I think is fantastic you are going to go!
You can check out the Spelling Bee Tony Performance that was televised a few years ago, maybe it could enlight you a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=292dPNs9S鈥?/a>
(of course, in this video there's a special guest that, normally, is not on the show, but it allows you to get an idea of the subject!!!)
Goodluck!Has anyone seen :The 25th annual Puttnam County Spelling Bee';?
it is so fun, full of songs, and as you go deeper into the play you get to know how the characters feel. It's a blast!!
Yes! The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is one of the funniest shows right now! I absolutely loved it when I saw it ( and I still do now) and the music is great! Not only that, but all of the interactions with the audience make the show even better.
Hope you enjoy the show!

Tell him his mom is fat.Someone wants revenge. He wants to sting the bumble bee that stung him. How to do?
Did he notice a stinger left in his body where he was stung? That's his revenge. The stinger remains in the person/animal that was stung, and in the process the bee is killed.

Does anyone believe the recent demise of the bee population is caused by the increase in cell phone usage?
Just a thought, without bee's we have no food.Does anyone believe the recent demise of the bee population is caused by the increase in cell phone usage?
No one knows for sure yet.
But, cell phone usage seems an unlikely cause. If it were the cause, it should be obvious that the bees are getting lost in places where there is high cell phone use and lots of transmission towers compared to sparsely populated rural areas where I can't get any reception.
The other thing that should be obvious if the cause is cell phones is which frequencies are used in which places. If cell phones are the cause, it seems to me that it would be a narrow band of frequencies causing the problem and not cell phone usage in general.Does anyone believe the recent demise of the bee population is caused by the increase in cell phone usage?
I will be visiting a beekeeper friend on Sunday. I plan to ask what is the latest in trying to find an answer. Report Abuse
we can live off burgers you know~
Yes, we are to blame. Perhaps beehives should be placed much closer to the flowers, so the bees don't get lost. Or maybe this signals the end of the vegetarian age. I'm buying shares in McDonald's immediately.
Well, new zeland has lots of cell phones, and no demise of any bees at all, so perhaps in whatever country your in, its related to something else?
I didn't know that bees used cell phones. LOL!
No, the whole CCD problem, though it hasn't been determined at this point, will, I'm sure, have more than one cause that is working to cause what we see. That is generally the case with most things. I would not be at all surprised though to find that the increases in electromagnetic pollution, of which cell phones surely add to, to be just one more nail in the coffin. It is part of that total environment of which we share with all else, but that we wield with little or no concern for the rest of the population of living things.
It's speculation at best. The research that is usually cited was actually done with cordless phone base stations embedded in honey bee hives - not really that closely related to standard cell phone use. I think parasites, disease, or pesticides are more likely causes of the bee decline, but it may be a while before the real causes are identified.
or global warming perhaps? Bee populations in europe fluctuate intensely from one year to the next... it's natural there's not too many around right now. perhaps next year they'll be so populus that you'll be plucking them out of your hole
Hell yes! The little bastards are flying around making calls and crashing into all sorts of things. Insurance premiums hit the roof, and they could no longer afford food leading to their demise.
A sad harbinger for our species which is also addicted to the cell phone (they make us feel important and that's worth gold to the average homo sapien, I of course am better than all of you) (that's another self-importance joke)

What happens when you get stung by a bee for the first time?
I JUST GOT F**KING STUNG NEED IMMEDIATE ANSWERS!!!!What happens when you get stung by a bee for the first time?
I have been keeping honey bees for several years now and i feel pretty confident about answering this one. Some form of benidryl or antihistamine will help with the itching and possibly the swelling if taken soon after the sting. You will receive lots of input about thinngs like meat tendorizer, tobacco, baking soda an other topical treatments. they are all just wives tales. I have tried and they none seam to work. the venom of a wasp is different than that of a honey bee. a honey bees venom is an irritant used to defend the hive while a wasps venom is used to kill its prey. My best advice is to not rub or scratch and let it run its course. it is normal for it to be sore for a coupel of days
I have had one itch for as little as a few minuts or as long as a weakWhat happens when you get stung by a bee for the first time?
It stings some on the first cut (I'm sure you've noticed). Afterwards the area will swell some and turn red. This is the extent of the damage for most. For some people, though, they have an allergic reaction to the venom and may have convulsions, their windpipe may close, and the affected area may swell tremendously. If you have any of these severe symptoms, go to the hospital.
nothing will happen just put ice on it to numb the pain and you'll be fine. bee stings aren't dangerous unless your allergic.
Nothing will happened unless your allergic to them, the pain will go away in a little while

During the 90's there was a TV show on Nickelodeon with a Fuzzy bee, Do you remember the name of it?
The bee puppet would ask questions like, ';Do You Hiccup?'; and ';Do you like Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwhiches?';. It was question like what Elmo did a number of years ago on Sesame Street.During the 90's there was a TV show on Nickelodeon with a Fuzzy bee, Do you remember the name of it?
if it was in fact on nickelodeon, a puppet and in the 90s, it's most likely either Allegra's Window, Eureeka's Castle or Gullah Gullah IslandDuring the 90's there was a TV show on Nickelodeon with a Fuzzy bee, Do you remember the name of it?
A show that used to be on Nickelodeon that was considered the rip-off of Sesame Street was called Pinwheel, but that ran from the late 70's to late 80's. There are two bugs in Pinwheel, and one looks like a bee or a fly, at least in the YouTube video of it's theme song.
Then another puppet show entirely from the 90's was Weinerville, which was popular.
Neither, that I can find at least, included a ';bee'; type character, but it may have been a short appearance the character made that you remember.
Pinwheel and Weinerville are my two best guesses.

Honey bees populations are half what they used to be twenty years ago. The reasons are increased pesticides, mites, and interbreeding with africanized honey bees.
The best thing you could do is not use any type of pesticides. After that, create a suitable home for honey bees to stay in, like an old couch of even a bee box... if you live in your place. Otherwise, buy organic produce and support organic businesses... don't support animal agriculture (for many reasons including green house gases and pollination).
This link will tell you how important honey bees:

E coli outbreaks, tainted wheat gluetin, abandonded bee hives, dolphins attacking humans, out of season tornadoes and tropical storms , melting glaciers and much much more to follow. We, as poor custodians of the earth, have really screwed up and these are the beginnings of the end game for us. It may be too late to turn it around.
I heard that mites are wiping them out.
why bees who cares
Bees are insects not animals.
so therefore you are fighting for insect rights.
I'm sure there are a lot more ants, flies, beatles and other insects dying in the world. Why are you so concerned with bees?

Question from 'The Bee Movie' What is the bee's philosophy on job choice and occupation?
Most bee jobs are small ones but most bees know that every small job if its done well means a lot. But, choose carefully because you'll stay in the job that you pick for the rest of your life!

How come indians or east asians always are the winners of Spelling Bee?
i always seen east asians or indians won the Spelling Bee
i've never seen white kids wonHow come indians or east asians always are the winners of Spelling Bee?
not east asians, indians. sigh. there were still more whites who won the spelling bee than east asians.

and it is cultural. it has nothing to do with race or genetics. 11% of participants were south asian decent. obviously they will have a bigger chance of winning as opposed to say less than 1% of another race participating.
http://www.siliconindia.com/shownews/426鈥?/a>
and you have never seen white kids win? read about kerry close. she is a white girl who beat an indian boy not too long ago. you probably only pay attention to when someone says asian on tv and ignore other races. (black, white, even hispanic sometimes are participants and finalists in the spelling bee). How come indians or east asians always are the winners of Spelling Bee?
I am an Indian. and I can answer this question. ';always'; is such an exaggeration. Firstly, those Indians have parents who migrated to the US on the basis of education and hard work. So, the parents pass on this ';success'; mantra to their kids. It's a cultural thing. Secondly, Indians as a whole are less capable of gelling into the white society (due to HUGE cultural gap) and hence have less distractions in parties, drugs, etc.
Physical attributes (race) are completely unrelated to intelligence (thinking attributes), emotions (feelings attributes) etc. Race determines nothing in these aspects. Culture does. Those of my country who migrate to yours on the basis of education bring up their children the same way.
And there are SO many whites (in fact much more than Indians, though Indians make less than 1% of the American society) who have won the Spelling Bee contest.
Don't spread the wrong words (in case you are....). An Indian has the same probability of success as you do provided you work hard too. The normal distribution of intelligence in every race is at random, and since there are 6 billion people on the earth, the distribution remains almost (any race can have a slightly higher % of intelligent people at a given time frame, all random) the same across all races.
Asians have a tendency to be pushed harder by their parents, many of whom come from Asia and India where their education was tougher. while an american parent might tell their kid to ';do their best';, most asian parents probably say that to their kid too ... but then when the kid comes home with a B, the parent lectures them about how their childhood was so hard and they need to do better...
Studies have shown that Asians/Indians score higher on SAT tests and whatnot because education is very important for many of these cultures. They feel its their duty to become educated.
However, Asians and Indians are not ';naturally'; smarter because of genes, contrary to belief
To me, its pretty interesting to see the ';culture gap';
yeah apparently alot of the contestants in the finals were of indian descent. i think it obviously has to do with the culture. the culture of the indians is unique, because the values from ancient times have remained mostly the same today. the indians are a tolerant people, as they have absorbed ALL religions into their culture. the majority are hindu, thus alot of hindu values carry over into their tradition which has impacted their culture and way of life throughout time. one of the main goals of hindusim is attaining the highest level of consciousness called ';self realization'; or moksha. by attaining this level, they must go through rigorous steps of achievement in life. they have to focus on fulfilling their duty (dharma) which is why i think they are so disciplined. by fulfilling their duty, they in effect build their karma. in essence, the more they achieve in life, the closer it will be for them to reach the highest goal called ';self realization';. once this phase is reached, this means they have lived a full life, where they have fulfilled all duties and also have done good things thereby building their karma. these are very ancient philosophies which have derived from their scriptures called the vedas and the bhagavad gita, and many others. hinuduism is a very old religion, actually the oldest in the world to be exact. but to make one point clear which i have stated earlier, although the majority of indians are hindu, their culture has always tolerated and absorbed all other religions over the years as well.
lol u saw that too well i think its because theywork harder like im white and im kinda lazy but a lot of white people are more concerned about other things besides academics where like people from india and china and japan are exremely like prowd and and work really hard at like academic skills i think its because back when some places were still comunist the rulers really put pressure on the chools to make their people better than the um western peoples and even after most places discontinued being like communist or w/e like that they current gos over there still have a much higher level of education atleast thats what i think but im only a dumb white boy from america XD
It's not always, but I'll wager it's the culture the kids grew up with that has a lot to do with it -- not to stereotype, but those groups DO tend to emphasize education as the key to success in life.
because they are smart. have you seen how do they study? specially in japan and china. man parents and teachers put a lot of pressure on them. and that's when they're like 11 or 12 years old. i really admire those kids.
well I think south asians(indians) east asians (orientals)
are very much driven by their parents that education must come first .
it's a cultural thing
Because they are having more better education system. u'll come to know when u compare a knowledge of a 5 year old child from these region especially frm India, and 5 yr old in Western white child. XD
im white..ive won spelling bees...i was always the best speller in my class usually.
but those were only class spelling bees..never did anything national...lol
Sometimes white kids do win. Asian parents usually drive their kids to study harder.
the education system is pretty strict. studying and exams are projected as very important, and students study very hard.
most parents(not all) put alot of pressure on their kids to study harder and the competition in schools to be among the best scoring students is really tough.
Because white kids have less IQ, they spend their time watching tv and eating fats thus making them obese, like i see on my tv
LOL thats what I just asked my husband!
Because the smart white kids have better things to do? Like part time jobs or homework - something actually productive.

Any update on the bee situation please?
I see most stories about the decline in bees came out spring last year, has anyone got any recent information concerning this matter? has it got worse, stayed the same? is it really a big deal? can we just make food a different way?
thanks.Any update on the bee situation please?
I was reading an article about a month ago saying that the bee colonies were actually coming back , something like 5,000,000 colonies before the start of the die off and down to 2,250,000 and now back up to 3,000,000 . than a few weeks ago i was reading an article saying the the bee situation is still declining .
I have read many theories on what was happening to the bee's from cell phones being the cause to global warming . but i think the concesus is that there is some sort of virus killing htem off, i think this is all convered under the term colony collapse disorder . not sure what the real status of the bee's are.
As for others ways to do the work of bee's .........a human would have to actually go out and pollinate each plant individually , could you imgine the expense to do that properly ? the expense we would see at the grocery .Any update on the bee situation please?
try

What is the serenity prayer from akeelah and the bee?
i love the way it sounds. i want the exact words that was used on the movie!!!What is the serenity prayer from akeelah and the bee?
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
the longer version continues, but is not as common...
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Arabic speakers, a bee in the singular form is always female irrespective of it's gender?
My question is: if a bee is always referred to (as a noun) as female, then is it a must that verbs involving a bee should also be expressed as female? Is using masculine verb for a bee is correct? (because I am talking about non-human plurals, which is there are many bees).Arabic speakers, a bee in the singular form is always female irrespective of it's gender?
Yes a Bee is refferred to a female (as a noun) as 賳丨賱丞
Verbs involving a bee (noun) is expressed as female, since we're talking about noun.
using a masculine verb for a female bee (as noun) is not correct,if u want the bee masculine than the word ';bee'; is written ';賳丨賱';
It would be easier to answer u if you put some examples.Arabic speakers, a bee in the singular form is always female irrespective of it's gender?
As the bee is always referred to (as a noun) as female in the Arabic language, so every action ';verb'; the bee would do, would referred to it with a feminine verb.
If you used masculine verb it won't be correct.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit-O-HoneyWhat is the name of the candy with a bee on the wrapper?
Bit-O-Honey
I think you're looking for Bit-O-Honey.
Some of the old style Bit-O-Honey wrappers have a Bumble bee on them. Most of the newer, smaller candies have a small flower or else no design. Bit-O-Honey is a ';hard and chewy candy with almond bits blended into a hard honey flavored taffy';
The other candy I know of that has a yellow and red wrapper with a bee on it is good ole Honey Hive crunch. I don't know who sells it, but you can look at a picture of the wrapper at the link below.
Other sources for candy wrappers with bees would be personalized wrapper sites, such as http://www.whimsywraps.com/kids-birthday.asp and www.classiccandycovers.com
Its not a bee, but I when I read your question, I thought of Mary Janes, thinking it was a bee on the wrapper (from memory), but the wrapper is yellow with a red stripe, and I believe they're caramel. Source Link is to a pic of Mary Janes.dvr

There is no conclusive answer just yet. Some suspect it is related to bacteria or fungus because they tested irradiating empty hives to kill off any outside organisms then returned the bees to them and they thrived.
Die offs like this are not unheard off. While the impact is far reaching, it has happened many times before - and long before cell phone towers. Why Are The Bee's Dying? I'm a vegan and i want to know why they are dying and what i can do to help control i
global warming- its too hot for them.
This is what bee keepers recently said. It's the cell towers. The bees leave the hive to search for food. When they get near the cell towers, they are disoriented by the ';waves'; and lose their way back to the hives.... and they die because the hive is their source of energy. So, as long as we pack cell phones, the bees will be at risk.
Im worried about that too. Its extremely important to have bees to pollinate our food.
Fungus
Some are specualting that is is due to microwaves fro cell phone towers....pretty scary stuff.....Einstien predicted that if bees went extinc, so would we.
killer bees from mexico are migrating north and killing all of the honey bees. killer bees are very agressive.
my friend that moved here from st louis had one in her house while she lived there.(scary huh?!)
they are bigger than honey bees(theyre HUGE) and if you make them angry they hiss and then a ton of them swarm and attack you. these bees are very dangerous because they swarm at huge numbers so please be careful!

What is the story about the birds and the bee's?
Birds eat seeds and bee's pollinate flowers...What is the story about the birds and the bee's?
i always assumed birds and bees had to do with reproduction. What is the story about the birds and the bee's?
About sex!!! The birds and the bees, birds being male and bees being female. I've never understood how it relates to sex, but when you reach the age of puberty, you are told, or should be told about how when a boy and girl have intercourse they can create a baby together. Its better to save SEX for the marriage bed. Sustain from it until your wedding night.
ask your mom
did your parents tell you to ask us,,that is there job ,not ours.....sorry..
One day a bird flew into a bee, and the bee said, Hey, watch where you're going. And the bird said, I would, if your stinger wasn't stuck in my backside. And the bee said, Hey you got your peanut butter in my chocolate. And the bird said, you got your chocolate in my peanut butter. And...
Birds crap on your newly washed car...........ie Boys
Bees make honey and lots of it................ie Girls
The bees go buzz and they sting the hell out of you! Thoes winged creatures that fly over you birds are wondering why in the hell you are walking and looking at them like a fool!

Is 2007 Spelling Bee champ Evan Dorney so nerdy that the the Star Trek geeks will get more dates than him?
This guy couldn't get a date to save his life! Too much math and spelling. Somebody teach him some social skills! Beauty and the Geek, here he comes! Is 2007 Spelling Bee champ Evan Dorney so nerdy that the the Star Trek geeks will get more dates than him?
in case you have not seen him and wonder what this question is about...check him out in this video http://emuse.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch鈥?/a>Is 2007 Spelling Bee champ Evan Dorney so nerdy that the the Star Trek geeks will get more dates than him?
lol so true
ask him to spell gnat, see if he knows that name for a fruit fly.In most spelling bee's alot of people cann't spell it, It must be to simple or something.
OMG....how judgemental and cruel. The poor kid obviously has aspergers, but instead of seeing a disability (or, God forbid, accepting him for who he is), people all over the country are making fun on his inability to speak or make connections.
The main inability of people to show compassion is why there are websites like www.neurodiversity.com. These kids are beaten down all through school and adulthood, based on a neurological disability that they can't control. I may sound defensive, but being the leader of a support group for these kids, and having a child with aspergers myself, I am blown away constantly by the harsh criticism people display, esp when they aren't hurting anyone and would be happy if people like you would shut your mouth.
edited to add one more thought: this isn't even a question, just a pathetic attempt to make fun of someone who can't defend himself. Congrats.

Where can people see/read about the national spelling bee online?
I enjoyed watching the national spelling bee on television tonight, but I have a friend who loves words, but who can't see it on television. Is there a place where my friend can see the footage of the bee? If not, where can she read a word list?
(She doesn't have her TV hooked up to an antenna. She only uses it to watch movies.)Where can people see/read about the national spelling bee online?

Do you think kids who ask for the definition of a word in a spelling bee are just stalling?
No, I don't think so or it wouldn't be an
allowable question for them. Some words
sound the same but have different meanings
so they want to make sure they are spelling
the word with that meaning. That's playing
it smart.Do you think kids who ask for the definition of a word in a spelling bee are just stalling?
no. certain words are spelled differently according to the the way they are used.Do you think kids who ask for the definition of a word in a spelling bee are just stalling?
No because some words are spelled differently according to the definition. Their there and they're ...and what about deer dear , be and bee their are many words like this and smart children that make it further along know this....God bless you.

Where can I find the song 'Love letter to Japan' by The Bird and the Bee?
On their new album ';Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future';. Out January 27th.
I want to take my 10 month old baby to the movies to see the Bee movie. Do you think it wil be too loud?
yes, I think it will be too loud. You could try putting baby ear muffs on her (if she'll keep them on). OR: many theatres in my city have a ';movies for mamas'; show, for parents to bring their babies (under1), the volume is set lower in these shows.I want to take my 10 month old baby to the movies to see the Bee movie. Do you think it wil be too loud?
Maybe not too loud to cause harm, but too loud to be enjoyable. Many cities have theaters that run mommy matinees before the regular shows start. They are at about 11am, and they leave the lights up a little and turn the sound down. Everyone there knows there might be a crying baby, so no one gets mad.
ps: the ';excitement of her first movie'; is better when she's about two. Even my 2 1/2 year old wiggled through most of Ratatouille.I want to take my 10 month old baby to the movies to see the Bee movie. Do you think it wil be too loud?
If your child gets startled when something sorta jumps out at him, and is bothered by very loud sounds, I would say yes, it would be too much for your child.
It might be too loud. The theaters bump up the audio loud at times, might frighten your 10 month old. Wait till the baby is at least 2.
I don't think it would be loud enough to do any harm to your baby's hearing. I've certainly seen younger kids at the movies, especially the ';dollar'; theatres.
I would, however, consider how many times you might have to get up and leave with your baby, due to crying, wet diapers, squirming, etc. That might make the experience less enjoyable for both of you.
Having said all that....... I think if your baby isn't startled by loud or sudden noises and can't sit fairly still for long periods of time, go ahead and take him/her to the movie.
that's a really stupid idea.. your baby doesn't care about the bee movie.
don't take it to a movie theatre. wait for it to come out on video, or send your baby to a babysitter if YOU want to see it.
seriously? why would i get a thumbs down for that answer? BABIES DON'T CARE ABOUT LONG MOVIES!
I think it is too loud for me and a baby might be a lot more sensitive to it. I personally would wait until it comes out on DVD. Besides that 10 months is a little too young to remember it anyway.
Well, we have taken my cousin to the movies since she has been a week old, she is 10 months old now, and she loves it! It it kinda cool to let the baby's go, different theaters have different noise levels, so find the theater that is right for you.
Probably so. You're baby won't be able to focus on a movie of that sort. It would be too long and with probably too much action. If you want to expose them to video/cinematography of any sort, it's best to start with something that won't last nearly as long and in the comfort of your own home, too. My son watches Baby Einstein videos when he's allowed - they're short enough for his attention span and there's not a lot of action, which allows his attention to stay focused.
id wait till hes older. yes it will be loud but give it a try and see how he responds to it, just to make sure.
It might be, especially if the theater is near empty. They crank up the volume because the audience absorbs the sound waves. Little known, but true fact.
Try going to a crowded theater on a Saturday afternoon.
